Support your neurological system with essential oils

tremorsAbout a year ago, my dad, a retired MD felt like he needed to get checked out by a neurologist. The news wasn’t so great.

My dad is a tough nut on the oil stuff. He’s personally experienced amazing things with the oils and some of the supplements (he won’t leave the house without his Alkalime). He’s amazed by how much diffusing Lavender helps his sinuses  which in turn allow him to get a good night’s sleep. (Duh, Dad! Lavender is good for everything!) Still, the man is a science guy through and through – if there isn’t a scientific paper written about something, then it’s not real in his mind. But…. he must be open to the “non-scientific” stuff at least a little bit…he let’s Mom and me put oils on him all the time.

Tonight they were over for my mom’s birthday dinner and afterwards I thought I’d do NAT or Neuro Auricular Technique on Dad. I’d been thinking about this for a while… what took me so long?  This technique is so calming to the nervous system. I guessed it could help my dad feel better too.

So- thankfully, I had all of the oils on hand: Frankincense, Valerian, Vetiver, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Roman Chamomile. I also added Sacred Frankincense because I remember at a YL Convention hearing about how important Sacred Frankincense was to the brain.

Occipital_ridgeI sat Dad down backwards in my kitchen chair with a pillow to cushion and put the first oil Frankincense on his occipital ridge and down his spine to about  T3. Then I took my glass dropper from one of my glass dropper bottles and used it as the “tool” to stimulate the locus ceruleus and along the occipital ridge. Then started on either side of each vertebrae working up to locus ceruleus. Then in between each vertebrae. I then applied the next oil. Was I doing it perfectly? I hope so. I was following instructions.

Everything calmed down!

After doing the NAT I had Dad put Regenelone cream on his “bad knee” that hurt him occasionally after exercise, so we might have talked about 5-10 minutes before I said “Hey Dad, let me see your hands.” He held them out and…… all was calm!!!!!!! We could see a very, very, very slight agitation but I think most older folks have a little bit of that. Both hands were basically still when he held them out. This amazed me because I watched him trying to eat his dinner tonight with a “bouncing” fork. I was amazed. Tickled. Not surprised, YL delivers.

I showed Mom – she was dumbfounded. We are all wondering how long it will last. I sent Mom home with some oils, she has some oils and will order the rest. I’ve asked her to take a video of “before” and then “after” so we can try to track how it works. I guess maybe I have a few of Dad’s “science genes” .

I should tell you all, my dad, the “science guy” let his neurologist put him on Azilect (which made him horribly nauseated after the first dose) but he had adverse reactions to that drug so stopped it after the first day – that was several months ago. I won’t step on my soap box, but many of you know how I feel about how our seniors are on poly-pharmaceuticals. Western medicine has a pill for everything for the older folks. I’m not a fan of how little analysis goes into prescribing. So in his eyes, he had no options left to offer good support to his neurological system.

To have an unsupported neurological system sucks. No doubt about that.

frankincenseWHAT IS NAT?

The NAT was developed by D. Gary Young in the Ecuador clinic in 2007, I have heard it was developed with neurological issues  in mind.

The purpose of the Neuro-Auricular Technique (NAT) is to jump-start and reconnect all of the synapses of the brain and upper spine, particularly in the locus ceruleus and vagal ganglia. The locus ceruleus or medulla is also the portal through which the vital life energy flows into your body. The vagus nerve regulates heartbeat, is involved in release of tears, controls digestion and peristalsis, production of hormones, control of sphincter muscles, ovarian and uterine function, prostate function, and sexual response.

NAT focuses on the occipital ridge, particularly the medulla (center depression at base of skull) and along the 7 vertebra of the spine between the skull and shoulders that comprise the neck)

NAT helps to make sure this vital nerve junction is fully functioning along with the rest of the brain.

THE OILS USED:  Frankincense is mostly monoterpenes for balancing and reprogramming. Valerian, Vetiver, Cedarwood, and Sandalwood are all mostly sesquiterpenes for oxygenating the brain and ganglia and to delete misinformation at the level of cellular DNARoman Chamomile is mostly esters for emotional release.

All I can say is, THANK YOU Dr. Young for these pure oils! It WORKED!
